The latest from the Colorado Republican Party:
GREENWOOD VILLAGE – Colorado Republican State Chairman Dick Wadhams today asked Denver Police Chief Gerald Whitman to confirm whether or not he was aware of a threat to candidate Bill Ritter during the 2006 campaign.
The controversial nominee for United States Attorney, Stephanie Villafuerte, along with Governor Bill Ritter and the Denver District Attorney's Office have all recently claimed that conversations during October 2006 were not regarding the unethical and inappropriate tapping of a national crime data base for political purposes. They claim the conversations were regarding an alleged threat to Ritter.
The letter to Chief Whitman asks him to confirm whether or not he was aware of such a threat and if so why there is no record of the Denver Police Department taking any actions regarding the threat.
